Sales Manager – Switzerland

To support the organization of Atlantic Forwarding Group within our Sales department, we are looking for a

Sales Manager

Work place: Basel (Zurich might be possible as well)
Position: Full-time
Reports to: Sales Director, UK, France, Switzerland

In this role you will perform sales activities within the assigned geographic area in line with the sales targets and objectives (SME). You’ll be responsible for client acquisition, raise awareness and ensure business in the assigned market. You will achieve the sales figures / the required budget in the assigned region. Further, you’ll be also responsible for identifying market needs and developing new services in cooperation with your supervisor and the product managers.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage and control the sales organization within the assigned sales region
  • Propose a sales plan (SME)
  • Execute and control the sales activities in line with the validated sales targets
  • Develop business with the assigned targets, existing customers and new customers
  • Assure successful account integration to operation, product, trade and customer service
  • Advise customers, listen actively and thus significantly increase the success rates and optimize cost of sales
  • Share information using internal reporting tool and following communication rules
  • Assure compliance with the sales process
  • Prepare quotations and follow-up offers in cooperation with the purchasing and operations departments
  • Care and focus on customers, build up and maintain in a naturally way relationships

Your profile:

  • Vocational education either as commercial clerk in a logistics/freight forwarding/transportation company or freight forwarding clerk, successfully completed
  • Any further education with specialization in sales & marketing is beneficial
  • At least 2 – 4 years’ work experience in a sales role within the freight forwarding industry
  • 2 or more years’ functional know-how in airfreight, sea freight and logistics
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a strong customer and result orientation
  • Profound local market knowledge (customers, competitors, suppliers, overall environment)
  • Quick grasp to understand our strategy and products
  • Basic business administration competence
  • Mother tongue Swiss-German, fluency (C1) in English – both languages are mandatory
  • Sound in MS Office skills (Office 365)
  • Self- and sales-driven, representative with a confident appearance
  • Open and positive mind-set with a «can & will do» attitude
