Senior Accountant – Thailand

To support our ambitious growth and expansion plans, we are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Accountant in Bangkok Thailand .
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of financial functions that support effective decision-making across the business. You will play a key role in collecting, tracking, correcting, and reporting the financial position of the Thailand entity within Atlantic Forwarding Group.
Your responsibilities will include recording transactions, compiling and analyzing financial data, conducting audits, assisting with budget preparation and financial forecasting, computing taxes, and preparing reports for management as well as external parties such as tax authorities, regulatory bodies, and shareholders.
In this role, you will be entrusted with the following key tasks and responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all HQ policies, company standards, local laws, governmental regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Compile, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
- Reconcile accounts to report variances or deviations.
- Review shipment job costing and reporting for deviations
- Prepare periodic financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and statutory filings (e.g., VAT, WHT, CIT) required by local authorities.
- Support or manage the month-end closing process and reporting to HQ.
- Present financial data and analysis to management, shareholders, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely registration and reconciliation of all business transactions.
- Conduct internal audits and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with Thai GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Manage accounts receivable collection and accounts payable payment.
- Compute taxes and liaise with external parties including banks, customers, vendors, and tax authorities.
- Assist management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts
The ideal candidate would bring the following skills and experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience in finance, accounting field
- Successful career track record as accountant or similar role.
- In-depth understanding of financial statements interrelationships as well as extensive hands-on experience in the preparation and analysis of financial reports. /li>
- Sound experience with local GAAP.
- Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- A flair for working with numbers, combined with the necessary precision and accuracy
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- English professional working proficiency.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently as team player, hands-on and do-er mentality.
